Position:

1.0 Senior Geotechnical Engineer: Rail and Tunnel Project Execution

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project quality program including geotechnical, structural and construction quality control and quality assurance requirements. The role will include but not limited to the following:

• Manage all aspect of the project quality program;
• Will be responsible for all geotechnical aspect of the rail and tunnel design and construction;
• Ensure that all project quality management systems and documentation are in accordance to project requirements;
• Prepare ITP and all other quality management documentation;
• Represent the project team on all matters related to quality;
• Plan, and prepare and maintain all quality documents and the quality management system;
• Direct the performance of internal and external quality audits including audits and assessments performed on external suppliers;
• Verify the suitability of all materials and services delivered for construction and installation work;
• Maintaining qualification records of auditors and QA/QC personnel on file;
• Provide quality oversight for all aspect of design and construction activities;
• Provide quality oversight for the design and construction of rail tracks and tunnels;
• Interface with all stakeholder during the design and construction of the rail tracks and tunnel;
• Participate in all relevant project meetings;
• Coordinate and manage all material QA and QC surveillance programs;
• Understand all aspect of the design and construction of industrial rail and tunnels;
• The individual will be the single point of contact for all aspects of quality for the rail and tunnel project;
• Manage/ coordinate all quality services as required for the successful delivery of the project with respect to Quality Assurance, Quality Surveillance and Quality Control;
• Identify and record all quality issues and deficiencies related to the effective implementation of the rail and tunnel project; and
• The individual will be responsible for initiating, recommending monitoring, and reporting of actions required to address quality related issues.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s, Masters or PhD Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering;
• Holds a P. Eng. designation with APEGA;
• Experience in developing and/or managing QA/QC programs; and
• At least ten (10) years of experience in railway, highway, or tunnel project execution.

2.0 Quality Manager/Lead – Industrial Rail and Tunnels

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project quality program including geotechnical, structural and construction quality control and quality assurance requirements. The role will include but not limited to the following:

• Ensure that all project quality management systems and documentation are in accordance to project requirements;

• Experience in developing and/or managing QA/QC programs; and
• At least ten (10) years of experience in railway, highway, or tunnel project execution.

3.0 Pavement Materials and Surfacing Engineer

The responsibilities for this position may include but may not be limited to the following:

• The individual will work in a team environment providing pavement and materials engineering services in support of pavement construction including asphalt concrete surfacing;
• Provide quality control (QC) and/or quality assurance (QA) services on pavement construction projects including hot mix asphalt concrete paving;
• Perform field data analysis and interpretation, engineering calculations and report preparation;
• Organize, and carry out pavement condition evaluations and investigations;
• Provide technical supervision of field inspection and review material testing results from the construction site lab;
• The individual should have significant experience reviewing/approving pavement evaluation reports;
• The individual should have significant knowledge and experience in pavement engineering and condition assessments including analysis of FWD, smoothness and friction data;
• Experience preparing and reviewing reports related to laboratory testing of soil, aggregate, and hot-mix asphalt (HMA) samples; and
• The individual should have experience with Super-pave and Marshall mix design related to evaluation and design of hot mix asphalt.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s, Masters or PhD Degree in Civil (Transportation-Pavement or Geotechnical Engineering);
• Holds a P. Eng. designation with APEGA;
• Experience in asphalt concrete pavement (ACP) design, and construction QA/QC; and
• At least 5 years of experience in highway pavement design and construction with ACP.
